Alcohol, Drug And Cannabis Impairment In The Workplace
This is a 4-hour training course designed to provide employers with information about alcohol, drug, and cannabis use, abuse, and impairment in the workplace. This course will cover an overview of alcohol and drug impairment, including signs and symptoms of abuse, and provide an overview of current use trends in Maine.
It will also discuss strategies for responding to perceived impairment and suggest ways to document impairment and keep the workplace safe without violating employment laws. The course is designed with Maine’s medical and recreational cannabis laws in mind, as well as the Reasonable Suspicion requirements of 49 CFR 382.603 for drug-free workplaces and safety-sensitive positions.
